This is not one of our April Fool’s day jokes and we got to take it seriously:
Google has publicly announced that in coming month of May it is going to boost the effects of the mobile-friendly algorithm.
Specifically, Google says:
“Today we’re announcing that beginning in May, we’ll start rolling out an update to mobile search results that increases the effect of the ranking signal to help our users find even more pages that are relevant and mobile-friendly.”
This simply means that your Google search rank may go down if your website is not “mobile friendly” yet by May, as deemed by Google.
We think this is actually a good move by Google, simply because more and more of your customers are using mobile devices to search. And you do want to get found by them on phones and tablets right?
Don’t know whether your webiste is mobile friendly? Take these simple steps to check in this month before May comes:
- Run an instant official Google mobile-friendly check here.

Remember – it is time critical to make sure your website is mobile-friendly awesome before April ends.
